Tripodequipment
A three-legged support that holds the camera still for slow shutters, precise framing, and sharp landscapes.
Any time the shutter is too slow to hand-hold — low light, long exposures, waterfalls, astro, focus stacking, bracketing — a tripod keeps the camera rock-steady. It also slows you down and improves composition. Look for one rated above your camera+lens weight; carbon fiber is lighter, aluminium cheaper. Turn off stabilization when locked down.
Use this when
- Long exposures, astro, brackets: essential
- Low light landscapes: lets you use ISO 100
Common mistake: Leaving lens IS/VR on while on a tripod, which can add blur.
