ND Filterequipment

A dark filter that cuts light so you can use slow shutters or wide apertures in bright conditions.

Like sunglasses for the lens. A strong ND lets you blur a waterfall at midday or shoot wide open in bright sun. Graduated NDs darken just the sky to balance a bright horizon.

Use this when

  • Silky water in daylight: 6-10 stop ND
  • f/1.4 in bright sun: 3 stop ND

Common mistake: Forgetting it's on and shooting an ultra-dark indoor frame.
