Tones well inside the range0 EV
The histogram is a more reliable exposure check than the LCD preview. Spikes jammed against the right edge mean blown highlights; against the left, crushed shadows. Aim to keep important tones off both edges.
Use this when
- Checking exposure in the field: watch both edges for clipping
Common mistake: Trusting the bright LCD outdoors instead of the histogram.
